Jego funkcją jest sprawdzanie stanu naładowania ogniw oraz ich balansowanie, czyli ładowanie indywidualnie danych ogniw odpowiednim dla nich prądem i napięciem. Przy systemach fotowoltaicznych przeznaczonych również do przechowywania energii BDC jest konieczny, jeśli falownik nie posiada wbudowanego regulatora. Kontroler BDC przeznaczony dla inwerterów serii MIN XH obsługuje od 2-7 sztuk baterii Growatt ARK-2.5H-A1 oraz dla inwerterów serii MOD XH, gdzie obsługuje od 3 do 10 sztuk baterii Growatt ARK-2.5H-A1.
