Masonry materials for rough construction

An integral part of most buildings is some masonry material. Its task is to encircle the building and give it several required properties. Above all, it is about the stability of the entire structure and its durability, thermal insulation of the building and at the same time protection against cold (or, conversely, heat) and noise.

At the beginning of the whole project, it is very important to determine which of these properties should play a key role in the construction and to choose the masonry material accordingly. Of course, it is also a question of price, everything must be calculated well in advance.

In this category you will find a wide range of masonry materials and together we will now introduce some of the most popular.

The bricks didn't say the last word

This iconic masonry material does not need to be introduced for a long time. Although fired bricks have been used for thousands of years, they are still very popular. This is mainly because it keeps pace with the times by manufacturers constantly improving their properties. Traditional fired bricks are still popular mainly because they offer good strength at a relatively low weight, are highly resistant to fire, perfectly accumulate heat, perfectly insulate sound, and in addition, their production is environmentally friendly.

On the market you will find a wide range of types of bricks, which differ in purpose (perimeter, partition, load-bearing, etc.) or properties (frost resistance, total load-bearing capacity, thermal insulation parameters…). You will also find a number of bricks with different fillings, such as bricks filled with polystyrene or mineral wool (which gives the bricks additional insulation).

It is bricks with integrated insulation that are becoming increasingly popular. Thanks to them, there is no need to line the house with another separate insulating layer, which saves builders time and money.

Aerated concrete is gaining in popularity

An increasingly popular masonry material is aerated concrete. It is one of the light building materials that offers good thermal and sound-insulating properties. Aerated concrete is also "more flexible", so it is more suitable for the construction of not entirely typical buildings - aerated concrete is well milled, cut or sanded. And thanks to the fact that the construction with aerated concrete usually proceeds faster, this masonry material can attract many builders more than a classic brick.

Some manufacturers also offer complete modular systems, where you can build almost everything from aerated concrete - walls, load-bearing walls, stairs, ceilings, partitions, etc. This can be useful when you want to have one unified solution and the certainty that everything will fit well.

Panel sandwiches - masonry material not only for industry and agriculture

Finally, we will mention sandwich panels. You will be particularly interested in the moment when you are looking for masonry material for agricultural or industrial buildings. They can also be used in other types of buildings, but here they are the most used.

The biggest advantages include quick assembly of panels together and their possibility of quick disassembly. This allows the structure to be quickly transferred elsewhere, or expanded or modified. Panel sandwiches offer excellent durability, thermal insulation properties, minimal maintenance and easy combinability with other materials.
