Formwork for rough construction

If we are talking about formwork for rough constructions today, in the vast majority of cases this means the so-called lost formwork using special fittings. It is most often used to create the foundations of a house or its walls. It is called lost because once concrete is poured into this formwork, it becomes an integral part of the structure. In short, you don't move with him anymore (and in this case you don't even want to). Formwork blocks, which are usually used for lost formwork, merge with the structure and also give it their properties, such as excellent strength or durability.

It is true that we can come across other types of formwork, but not so often. For example, recycled paper can be used (for example, for column formwork). However, the disadvantage is the fact that once you peel off this paper from the dried concrete, you will not use it again. In addition, such formwork does not impart such resistance to the formwork structure as it does to lost formwork.

We can also mention wood formwork, which is very time-consuming to prepare, and although it might seem that the benefits clearly include the possibility of reusing it, many builders have already been convinced that the concrete is so dirty or damaged that it cannot be used again. It may not always be the case, but it is happening. The advantage is a relatively low price, but everyone must consider carefully whether to save money, but will invest time in the production or purchase of carpentry formwork.

Nowadays, lost formwork is most often used, so we will mention it next.

Advantages of lost formwork of rough construction

The clear advantages of lost formwork (sometimes also formwork) include a variety of constructions in which you can use them. These are walls, foundations or even fences. The builders praise the quick and easy installation of these blocks, as well as the features they will provide to the house. If you buy, for example, lost formwork made of vibro-pressed concrete, then you can count on its high fire resistance, frost resistance, precise dimensions and low water absorption.

Choosing the right lost formwork blocks

It is absolutely essential that you clear what dimensions you will need before purchasing these blocks. These depend on the project for which you are planning formwork. For example, when building structures that will be very stressed, we clearly recommend using wider fittings. If you are not completely sure what type of lost formwork to buy, definitely consult an expert (structural engineer or designer). Be sure not to buy lost formwork fittings unless you know for sure what you need.

So once you are sure of the dimensions, you can buy them. And as with some other construction products, we recommend buying at least a few percent more fittings "for Uncle's Advantage." You never know when a fitting will accidentally slip out of your hand or someone else and be damaged. So it pays to have some extra fittings so that you don't delay your project.
