Fasteners

Fastening elements are a diverse category of products used in the construction and maintenance of overhead power lines. Such electrical fixings range from clamps, couplings and clamps to various types of steel straps and tensioners and winches. All these fixings are designed to facilitate the proper and safe routing of cable routes.

Overhead line routing

Overhead lines are one of the most common ways of transmitting electricity over long distances. Another way to run electricity is through cable lines, which are installed in the ground. However, overhead installations have many undeniable advantages - such a system of conducting wires is characterized by a relatively low cost of preparation of the installation, ease of construction and maintenance.

Overhead power lines can be divided into transmission, transmission-distribution or distribution lines. Regardless of their function, these types of structures consist of conductors (phase and lightning conductors), support poles, earth electrodes, insulators and various types of fixing elements.

Overhead constructions must be resistant to weather conditions. Also very important is the high resistance to vibration and the ability to work in a wide range of temperatures. Such requirements are placed not only on the conductors themselves, but also on all other fixing elements composing the overhead lines.

Fixing Elements - offer

Electrical fasteners are divided into through-hole, guyed and guyed/through-hole types. Through-hole constructions are used when there are no forces affecting the tension. The purpose of lashing is to take over the force during tensioning. In contrast, the lashing-through suspension uses two types of attachments.

Various types of connectors are used to join cables together. They make it possible to connect two cables with the same parameters. In order to ensure a safe and durable result, a crimping tool is used to crimp them. There are also self-locking connectors. On the other hand, the ends of the wires are crimped using a press with appropriate jaws.

Electrical fasteners are also various types of steel or aluminium tapes. They are used for the installation of handles or hooks in overhead lines. They are also used during the installation of cable routes indoors (e.g. fixing cable trays). They can also be used to fasten smaller items such as name plates. Due to their very good tear resistance and corrosion protection, these products are also used, for example, in plumbing and ventilation.

Cable markers are used to mark overhead lines - especially near airports or intersections, for example. In the vicinity of bird breeding sites, various covers are also used for heads, insulators and wires.

Electrical fastening tools

The category of fasteners also includes various types of tools used during the installation of electrical fasteners. A good example of these types of items are winches. They are used wherever heavy loads need to be lifted. They are used for pulling uninsulated or insulated wire lines. Efficiency and safety during installation works depend on the quality of such tools. Winches are used not only for lifting, but also for loosening. Smooth operation of such a tool helps to avoid dangerous jumps. The winch can be controlled manually or electrically.

When working with steel or aluminum straps, a tensioner is also an indispensable tool. This type of device is used to obtain tension on the straps, which are used during the installation of accessories. The winch is also used when cutting the strap.

It is hard to imagine building or servicing an overhead line without a spanner. This tool is used when installing clamps on high voltage wires.
