Switches and switches
Switches and switches are the main components of any electrical system.
They are responsible for the correct flow of electricity and the
operation of devices, and also allow them to be controlled. For some
people, the difference in the nomenclature and the correct
classification of these electrical components can be difficult. Their
main task is to maintain the continuity of the flow and to turn on and
off a certain value of operating currents. They are widely used in the
construction of installations in industry and construction.
They are used, inter alia, as main switches for installations,
protection of motor operation and operational safety. Switch
disconnectors and switches are also installed in switchboards and
electrical cabinets of machine control systems. In general, both of
these devices are used to manage and maintain a specific cycle of
operation of the electrical system components. Disconnectors and
switches in the electric circuit protect and ensure continuous
operation, according to the rated current value.
Switches and switches in the electric circuit
Depending on the intended use, device function and rated current in the
electrical installation, we use the appropriate type of disconnector or
switch. Fuse switch and switch disconnector are two basic types of
protection that are used in many electrical installations.
Switch disconnectors in the electric circuit
The switch disconnectors include fuse switch disconnectors and switch
disconnectors.
Switch disconnectors are often used as the main emergency stop
switch. It protects against the effects of overloads and short circuits
in the installation. The switch disconnector operates in two modes.
Firstly, it isolates the electric circuit and ensures safe operation
of the network-connected devices. Secondly, it conducts the current
rated value, but only up to the time specified by the parameters.
Fuse switch disconnectors are elements that protect electrical
installations in construction and industry. Used for the construction of
switchboards in main buildings and production halls. Fuse switch
disconnectors perfectly protect installations by switching off in the
event of exceeding the upper rated current value and short circuit
occurrence.
Switches in the electric circuit
Switches used in installations ensure easy and safe switching and
disconnection of power sources in emergency states. Some have the
function of forced opening of the contacts. Manual control can be
signaled by an LED which informs about the current position of the
switch.
Switches can be combined into modules used in control systems. They
enable cooperation and control of other building automation products or
direct receivers.
Miniature circuit breakers are elements of the electrical installation
whose task is to cut off the energy supply when the current exceeds the
safe value for a given circuit. The switch is designed to control
devices and protect them against the effects of overloads and
short-circuits in industrial installations, as well as electric
receivers in households. The miniature circuit breakers operate in an
alternating cycle on - off.
The residual current device disconnects the devices when a rated
surge occurs in the installation. The switch protects the personnel
against electric shock in case of direct contact. It also eliminates the
risk of fire.
