Plafonds / ceiling plafonds

Plafonds have been a popular type of lighting fixture for years. Their main advantages include low price, elegant appearance and universal application. They are often the only reasonable solution, e.g. in very low interiors. All this means that they will not go out of fashion for many years and will not disappear from the market - the more that the idea behind them has already been used to create equivalents of classic ceiling plafonds in the form of LED panels.

How to choose ceilings?

A person who is faced with the choice of a ceiling lamp certainly appreciates its practical values. However, despite the fact that they have been produced for years, the creators still surprise with fresh ideas about their shapes. Interior designers are also eager to use this type of lamps, which can give four walls a modern character without exaggerating in the form itself. The main selection criterion is the style: traditional or modern. The former most often goes well with conservative interiors, rustic furniture, wooden floors and eclectic accessories. The newer style is ideal for minimalist and neutral-looking interiors.

What to consider when choosing ceiling ceilings?

Important aspects are the dimensions and the light source. Although the classic ceiling is associated with a round fixture, a glass or plastic lampshade and an E27 bulb socket, the category of these lamps is now much richer. Ceiling plafonds can be in the form of super slim, i.e. strongly flattened lamps. These are most often made using LED technology. The ceiling can also take on slightly less obvious shapes, resembling a chandelier rather than a simple, geometric structure. Here, too, LED solutions are in the lead, which can take any, almost unlimited form. Therefore, when choosing a ceiling plafond, it is worth paying attention to the light source. A timeless solution is of course the use of a holder with a thread: GU10, E27, E14 and others. The advantage of this type of solution is the possibility of using intelligent light bulbs, which are controlled automatically or with the use of an application. In this case, there is often an option to change the color of the light, but it does not add much to the ceilings, because they are used as main lighting rather than mood lighting.

Where do ceiling ceilings work?

The ceiling version of the plafond will work in many places. This solution should be of interest mainly to those who need to arrange lighting in low interiors. Ceiling lights are quite compact, and in the LED version, the thickness of the surface-mounted housing may be additionally limited. This type of luminaire is perfect for corridors, bathrooms and hallways. However, there is nothing to prevent the use of ceiling lamps in the living room, children's room, and even as part of the bedroom lighting. Ceiling plafonds will also work well in the garage and in technical rooms.

Do I have to take care of the ceiling?

Depending on the design, it may be necessary to carry out maintenance on the ceiling from time to time. It looks the easiest in the case of integrated LED luminaires. There are usually no removable elements, so it is enough to wipe the housing from the outside from dust and possible spider webs. However, when the ceiling is made of two parts - the luminaire and the lampshade - dust particles, and sometimes even insects, can get inside. The good news is that the glass cover can be removed and cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild detergent.

Plafonds, especially ceiling ones, are now available in a full range of materials and colors. The price bands are also quite wide. It is worth focusing on two factors: the external appearance and the light source. The most interesting proposals are those that were constructed using LEDs. Their only drawback is their limited lifetime - after the time specified in the manual, the entire lamp needs to be replaced, not just the bulb.
