Pipe Clamps
Pipe clamps are a group of special clamps used for fixing various types of pipes. They are most often used in water and sewerage industry, in heating, gas, ventilation and air conditioning installations, or for the installation of pipeline connections. By using specific clamps it is possible to properly run each installation. Pipes can be securely fastened to walls, ceilings or technological routes.
Pipe clamps: Characteristics
The most common pipe clamps available on the market are PP clamps, steel pipe clamps with rubber and steel pipe clamps with rubber. PP grips are made of the same material as pipes and fittings, therefore they form a harmonious and aesthetic unity with them. It is worth to be aware, that the efficiency of the whole installation depends on the correct pipe fitting, therefore it must be chosen meticulously. Optimal fitting of pipes affects its durable and failure-free operation. Depending on your needs, you can buy casing pipe clamps individually or in whole sets. On the market there are also special grips for copper pipes, showing a considerable resistance to corrosion and not having a destructive effect on the material, from which a specific cable is made. Besides that, we often buy sets of metal clamps, e.g. from galvanised steel, or sets of plastic clamps.
Most products in this group can be mounted horizontally or vertically to a surface. They can be easily mounted to walls using wall plugs adapted to the rim. In each case, the type of pipe should be matched to the application. For example, for central heating pipes it is advisable to use clamps with higher thermal resistance. PVC or steel clamps are dedicated to specific installations or to cooperation with pipes made of specific materials. Thanks to this, they do not adversely affect the operation of the pipe and the entire installation and prevent damage resulting, for example, from excessive loads. A well-chosen holder also influences the safety of people who will use a given installation. It will also prevent failures, which could result in flooding of the house. Therefore, the brackets should be selected at the stage of designing a specific installation. If the specified system is extensive, it is also necessary to take into account the distribution of handles at longer pipe fragments.
Pipe clamps: Optimum selection
When selecting clamps for a particular pipe, the diameter of the pipe in particular should be taken into account. This is because grips are usually designed for pipes of a specific size. If they are too loose they can cause the pipe to move and this will affect the stability of the entire system. On the other hand, if the clamp is too tight, it can lead to deformation of the particular pipe. Exceptionally carefully select clamps for PVC and copper pipes, because these types of pipes can expand slightly under the influence of certain substances. In the case when a pipe is routed through a long room, the grips need to be distributed evenly. Then it is worth deciding on sets, in which you can find several pieces of the same products. PP pipe clips can be used with plastic or copper pipes. Usually these products are adjusted to one type of installation. They are heat resistant, durable and aesthetically pleasing. They can be used to support lighter weight pipes or for lighter installations. As they are waterproof, they can also be installed in humid environments. On the other hand, metal pipe clamps are used for heavier installations. These clamps are often equipped with additional insulation layer. The purpose of this layer is to soundproof the installation and prevent the hard materials from rubbing against each other. Metal clamps work very well with steel installations, because they do not stretch. On the other hand, rubber pipe clamps are used in the places where soundproofing of the installation is required. Then they take the form of a clamp.
