Partitions

Partitions in electrical terminology mean a set of materials, parts and safety systems that prevent the risk of electric shock. If all these measures are applied, they must ensure safety and protection at the level required by law against direct contact with live parts from all sides and directions. They are used to separate the flowing energy mechanically from accidental contact with people and animals. It prevents and excludes any contact with the electrical installation in a non-insulated form.

Partitions - protection and electrical insulation

Comprehensive protection of electrical devices and installations requires the use of a number of methods and materials insulating and enabling the separation of hazardous zones. These methods, apart from basic protection in the form of physical partitions, apply supplementary protection in the form of residual current devices or voltage reduction to safe values in places where it is possible. Additional protection may be the separation of danger zones and the designation of safety barriers. In addition, isolation of workstations is used and various types of partitions are implemented to separate mechanically dangerous zones.

Basic mechanical protection

Under normal conditions of protection of all electric lines, machines and devices supplied with electricity, they must have at least one form of protection against electric shock. It must function in typical working situations, without damage to machines and electric lines. In this category of measures, the key is to prevent any human contact with flowing electricity. In some of these tasks, IP standards for individual classes of electrical equipment devices play a huge role. Using them in combination with sealed PCV enclosures prevents punctures and accidental electric shock. Increasing the protection is achieved by a number of additional steps and installation methods.

  • Isolation - this is achieved by permanently insulating the wiring of the wires. The use of equipment adequate to the environment and technical requirements. Separation of the exposed ends of the wiring by correctly joining them in all types of sockets and connectors. The construction and strength of insulating materials should make it impossible to remove them easily without permanently destroying them. All properly made insulation connections must be resistant to vibration, dirt, temperature and well protected against moisture.

  • PVC enclosures and mechanical partitions. They ensure the separation of dangerous zones against unauthorized access. Horizontal and vertical barriers and barriers are used in all types of electrical cabinets and switchboards. They prevent accidental contact with working elements and their exposed parts. All partitions must be permanently attached. Only additional tools or switching off the electricity condition their disassembly and access to the electrical system.

  • Barriers and protections are used to prevent accidental approach to working machines and electrical devices. Their purpose is to prevent inadvertent and temporary approach to danger zones. They are installed in electric traffic routes and in rooms with high risk of electric shock. Obstacles do not prevent deliberate and deliberate action to enter a danger zone.

  • Separation of individual places, workstations and technical devices enables effective protection against electric shock. This class of security includes methods to protect against direct access. They are often used in places without the possibility of using methods by securing and insulating in the form of PVC materials in the form of casings or partitions. A method that excludes the possibility of simultaneous access is also used here, which means the elimination of the possibility of touching simultaneously elements in which overvoltage may occur.

In electrical installations, it is often used to combine individual methods and duplicate insulating materials. Each element meets safety standards, and the use of additional safeguards allows for effective and permanent separation of high-risk areas. PVC materials permanently protect various components and electronic equipment operating in all conditions.
