Industrial sockets

Industrial sockets are designed to work in harsh conditions. They are used, for example, in factories, production halls and farms. They are indispensable wherever reliability and very high durability are needed. Such sockets must be adapted to frequent connection and disconnection, have a long service life, and at the same time provide an increased level of safety for employees.

Use of industrial sockets

Industrial sockets can be in a version designed for 1-phase power supply. Such a solution is perfect for e.g. utility rooms, cellars or garden sheds - which will allow you to connect power tools powered with 230 V. Single-phase industrial sockets with earthing are equipped with a protective contact, and therefore provide protection anti-shock.

power jacks - that is polyphase are also very common. This means that the socket is able to supply electric receivers with a voltage of 400V. Thanks to this, it is possible to connect devices with much greater power, and therefore such products are assembled in workshops, industrial plants or factories. The use of multi-phase sockets allows the simultaneous use of several devices with high power consumption, while minimizing the load on the electrical installation. Such a product is also used in domestic installations - e.g. when using an induction cooker. Multiphase sockets can be easily distinguished from single-phase sockets at first glance - they have a larger number of pins (single-phase - 2, multi-phase - 4 or 5).

Offer of industrial sockets

The offer of industrial sockets is very diverse. You can find there, for example, permanent sockets, i.e. sockets mounted to a given surface. Such products can have a surface-mounted or a flush-mounted structure. This category includes panel sockets, i.e. those that are mounted in various types of switchboards. In addition, there are portable sockets (allowing you to move from place to place).

In the case of single-phase industrial sockets, there is a division according to the type of earthing. System types F (Schuko) or E (French / Belgian) are used.

Depending on the specifics of a given installation and the requirements of connected electrical devices, industrial sockets are also available in versions equipped with an installation switch and a residual current device.

Sockets are divided according to planned load. Manufacturers offer series adapted to light industry with rated parameters from 16 to 32 A. In the case of the most intensive use, sockets adapted to electricity are used with a power of 16 to even 125 A and with a power of 50 to 690 V.

Electrical sockets - protection and resistance

Waterproof socket housing is an indispensable element when building an electrical installation in a facility where there is an increased risk of contact with water. Waterproof sleeve secures plug-to-socket connection. When no receiver is connected to the socket, it is usually protected with a hatch protecting against splashes of water, mud or other liquids.

Industrial sockets use strong plastic (eg PBT). Therefore, the housing is not only waterproof, but also very resistant to various external factors. Depending on the specific model of the nests, they may be resistant to salt, alkaline or acid solutions or UV radiation. For more demanding work environments, it is worth purchasing sockets that provide at least partial resistance to solvents or mineral oils.

Industrial sockets usually offer two levels of protection - IP 44 or IP 67. The first one refers to splash-proof sockets equipped with a protective flap. If the socket is to be installed in extremely difficult conditions (e.g. ports or the food industry), it is recommended to use sockets with a waterproof sleeve, enabling IP 67 waterproofing.
