Industrial relays - intermediary systems

Industrial relays are one of the elements of automation. Their task is to mediate in switching on high-power devices in control systems. The vast majority of industrial relays are based on the operation of an electromagnet, which, depending on the needs, is responsible for switching on, switching or switching off individual circuits. The basic parameters characterizing the usefulness of the relay are the coil supply voltage and the maximum load capacity of the operating contacts.

Industrial and energy automation is the main field in which the assembly of industrial relays is used on a large scale. Thanks to them, the operation of individual high-power devices, including electric motors and machines, is stable. The requirement of modern production lines is the use of relays plugged into executive systems to optimize control processes.

Industrial relays - types and construction

A typical, simple relay consists of a coil wound around the core, an armature, and moving parts of one or more sets of contacts that complete the working circuit. Low control current given at the relay input activates the contacts through the coil, changing their position. Relays are used wherever it is necessary to control the circuit of higher power with a separate low power signal.

Industrial relays are characterized by the number of contacts from 1 to 4 and a maximum working current of 48 A. All types of relays are suitable for mounting to plug-in sockets on mounting rails, or for mounting to printed circuits on printed circuit boards (PCB).

Electromagnetic relays - the most common type of relay, the actuating element is an electromagnet that opens and closes the working contacts.

Time relays - perform the programmed sequence of pulsing, delayed switching on or delayed switching off of the actuators cooperating with it.

Safety relays - are used where special safety is required, signaling and reliable operation of machines and motors. The double-secured control system prevents operation in the event of a failure, cutting the light gate or pressing the safety button by the machine operator. They perfectly control electric drives of systems requiring high supervision.
