Handles

Handles are used in electrical and telecommunication installations, structured cabling and control circuits. They can be found in all types of electrical cabinets, control cabinets, rack type cabinets, as well as in multimedia enclosures. Handles are also often used in applications not related to construction or current installations, e.g. in the pharmaceutical or food industry for marking and labelling.

Electrical handles - the most common solutions

Electrical clamps are a large group of useful accessories used to fix wires and cables. Depending on their cross-section, as well as the type, nature and location of the installation, metal or plastic clamps are used. The most common types of clips used in general purpose installations include cable ties, also known as "triptychs", as well as flop and quick hook type clips intended mainly for flush mounting.

Clamping clamps

These cable ties are available in metal as well as plastic versions. They are popular due to their ease of use, low price and versatility. Clamping bands are used in electrical engineering and ICT for

  • gathering wires into bundles,

  • ordering of wiring inside of control cabinets, electrical switchboards or teleinformatics cabinets,

  • laying of installations in perforated and mesh cable trays as well as on cable ladders and in PVC wiring trunkings,

  • laying cables under plaster - in this case special stands for cable ties are used. The bases are fixed to the ground most often with the use of expansion bolts and screws, and through the holders of the bases open clamps are pulled, which are closed on the previously placed cable (or wire bundle).

Clamping bands are appreciated not only in construction or industrial installations, but also in other areas of life. Available in many colors, "tritites" can be used for the marking of collective packaging, while the ties made of metal doped plastic are often used in the food industry to fix collective packaging labels. In the event of a band coming off and mixing with food, the unwanted presence can be easily detected using a metal detector.

Cable Ties

Among the most commonly used electrical cable clamps, we should mention the strap clamps, which come in different versions, including studs and screws. One end of the holder is integrated in the dowel, the other has a hole through which a screw can be inserted after the cable has been placed in the open holder. The screw should be screwed into the dowel creating permanent connection.

Another type of holder commonly used in electrical installations are quick holders, i.e. ready-made holders of various sizes, integrated with a dowel. Quick fasteners can be divided into

  • round - used for round cables,

  • flat - used for flat cables,

  • hook - used for flat cables, + hook-shaped - used for flat cables The clamps are placed in the ground with the help of a pin, and the wires are hung on the hooks.

The often used products are also flop type holders - with a nail, as well as lockable (latched) and collective holders, used for holding a number of adjacent wires.

Fixing clamps

Clamps are usually manufactured as rigid metal strips with a semicircular or closed loop design. They are used to fix electrical conduits to the substrate, for which semi-circular clamps with screw fixing are usually used. As well as semi-circular clamps, hoop clamps are used to fix cables and wires of larger cross-sections to cable ladders or mesh or perforated trays. This type of clamp usually uses bolt connections, but also snap-on connections. The advantage of metal clamps made mainly from galvanized steel or stainless steel is a high temperature resistance, low chemical reactivity and durability, as well as rigidity, which is important in case of large cross-sections of cables and wires with considerable weight.
