Motor temperature control relays

Motor temperature control relays are electronic systems designed to detect excess temperatures in transformers and in motors equipped with PTC or NTC sensors. The specific circuits in the relays have different functions and can check any number of programs.

Motor temperature control relays: characteristics

Engine temperature monitoring relays provide error-free temperature data. The system output for each of the temperature sensors is a relay with a changeover contact. Modern devices can also be equipped with an additional timer, which is activated with a delay of about 5 seconds after the supply voltage is applied to the system. Important technical parameters that should be suggested when choosing thermal relays manufactured, for example, by the manufacturer SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC company are: rated supply voltage, maximum power input, nominal power consumption, number of inputs for PTC or NTC sensors, maximum output load, resistance nominal overload, delay for switching on and off a specific circuit, number of outputs, maximum switching voltage of contacts, maximum AC switching capacity, rated load of contacts, ambient temperature during operation, ambient temperature during storage, electrical strength of insulation, degree of housing protection, taking into account additional indicators typical for specific devices. In the field of industrial automation motor temperature control relays are perfect. They are responsible for the optimal distribution of electricity, which in turn translates into rational and optimal use of energy so you can save money and have a greener approach.

Motor temperature monitoring relays: installation and individual functions

Commercially available motor temperature monitoring relays can be installed by following the included instructions. Each system of this type should be mounted on a selected rail. The switch located in the front part of the housing under the signaling LEDs should be set depending on the method of switching the contacts, as well as the type of sensors used. Then connect the protective conductor, power supply and sensors. Modern temperature control systems are maintenance-free.

Before connecting it is only necessary to make sure that the supply voltage of the relay is compatible with the voltage connected to it. Thanks to this, high efficiency of the entire system is ensured. It is possible to connect up to three sensors with a resistance adequate for the nominal temperature to the measuring inputs of the device.

Each of the sensors is checked in the bridge circuit by its own comparator with hysteresis. The comparator switches on or off the appropriate actuator. The indicated devices are characterized by high efficiency, and the fact that the product is easy to install in the main circuit allows you to quickly use it. Importantly, the relays work well with constant, but also with variable control voltage. Apparatus of this type can be used not only in residential construction, but also in industrial or commercial construction.

All motor temperature control relays are designed according to the standards for this type of equipment. Therefore, they can work flawlessly. Moreover, you can expect them to be reliable. It is not without significance that they are also universal and can be installed in many modules. Devices thanks to which you can check the temperature are very necessary. They should always be adapted to specific modules in terms of parameters. Then their reliable and very good operation is ensured. Electronic systems designed to detect excess temperatures in transformers and in motors equipped with PTC or NTC sensors are well-developed for applications in electrical systems.
