Properly selected fuses, i.e. D0 fuses , protect the operating devices and electric lines against the effects of overvoltages and short circuits in the installation. Due to their small size, D0 fuse links are also known as small-size fuses. Their small size facilitate the assembly and subsequent operation of electrical installations. D0 fuses are used to protect electric lines in industry and domestic installations. They effectively prevent the escalation of damage as a result of short circuits and overvoltages. They protect property and people against the effects of electric shock.
In the group of D0 type fuses there are three protection categories depending on the dimensions. These are fuse links ceramic D01 and D02 and, less commonly used, D03. Thanks to the smaller size of the inserts, we gain more space at the point of installing the protection. The low height of the "Eski" body allows installation in shallow distribution boxes and control cabinets.
The ceramic material from which the fuses are made ensures their correct operating temperature and minimum loss of flowing energy. The disconnection of often high currents is possible through the appropriate design of the fuses and placing them in quartz sand. It quickly extinguishes the electric arc arising at the moment of the voltage jump and prevents a sudden increase in temperature.
D0 fuses do not require specialized personnel for their operation. Replacing a blown fuse is simple and can be performed by untrained personnel. The fuse body has colored information on their nominal values. When using appropriate reducing inserts, it is possible to install the D01 fuse in both E14 and E18 sockets. The fuse type D03 requires an M30 base for installation. The use of alignment inserts prevents accidental installation of the wrong value of the fuse in the fuse holder. It is also possible to install small-size D0 type fuses in fuse switch disconnectors. Such system solutions are offered, among others, by ETI and EATON .
D0 fuses comply with the current standards of their class devices and operate according to the gL-gG system delay characteristics. Their maximum rated short-circuit current is 8 kA for DC voltage and 50 kA for AC current, respectively. They are perfect for protection of power installations . D0 type fuses show a high ability to control short-circuit currents. The flow of current with a value greater than the limit value causes the fuse link to burn out and, consequently, to break the electric circuit
Sockets and housings for small-size fuses can be mounted on a standard TH 35 installation rail in distribution boxes or by means of screw clamps in any location. The range of fuse-link parameters and effective short-circuit current limitation allow them to be used on a large scale in industry, power engineering and to protect electrical circuits in houses and apartments.
