Plastic corrugated casing pipes

Corrugated plastic conduits are excellent protection providing an effective barrier against mechanical damage to all types of cabling. In the industry nomenclature, the term peszel is often used to describe corrugated plastic pipes. Made of flexible plastic or self-extinguishing halogen-free resistant materials, they are used in a number of places to distribute electrical lines and other wiring inside and outside of buildings.

Plastic corrugated conduits - installation protection

Corrugated plastic pipes in most of the products offered are made of halogen-free plastic. They also do not contain phosphorus and sulfur compounds, which improves their properties in contact with fire and allows the use in the construction of piping casings in rooms requiring increased fire resistance. Elimination of toxicity factor in contact with fire and ignition of installation significantly improves the safety of electrical installations. Self-extinguishing material of plastic corrugated casing pipes is a standard in modern installation industry. Strict safety standards UL94 are fulfilled in individual ranges corresponding to particular group of casings. For example group V-2 materials go out after 30 seconds from the onset of fire.

Plastic corrugated conduits are used wherever it is necessary to protect the wiring. Their properties and total resistance to rust allows them to be used in various locations regardless of environmental conditions. They are perfect for cabling solar panels, distributing energy in the flush-mounted installations of buildings and bringing cabling to switchboards and electrical boxes. Plastic corrugated casing pipes have high resistance to abrasion, are very flexible and have a long life span. Plastic corrugated casing pipes return to their original shape in case of crushing or impact. They are also resistant to all types of solvents and oils as well as chemicals.

Construction of Flexible Cable Protection

Various cross-sections, types and variants of flexible corrugated pipes are commercially available. Together with additional accessories in the form of couplings, elbows and connectors of various types, they make it possible to create flexible cable ducts. Due to the structure, there are two types of pipes: double-layer and single-layer. Single-layer corrugated plastic pipes in the form of full or divided sections are used in less demanding locations of internal wiring of switchgears and places of cable connections.

Double layer pipes have a smooth inner jacket of soft and resistant plastic. Also called double-wall in larger cross-sections, they are used to protect cables in open trenches of external lines. Smooth inner surface facilitates the insertion of cables and pulling longer sections, regardless of the arrangement of the flexible pipe. The commercial offer includes all kinds of plastic corrugated protective pipes usually in lengths of 25 or 50 meter coils. Temperatures of normal thermal resistance range from -10 to +90 degrees Celsius. The diameters of the most popular profiles vary from 16 to 160 millimetres.

Flexibility in configuration of covers for cabling

Plastic corrugated casing pipes have additional properties and possibilities of their use in existing installations. The split conduits can be installed over the connected wiring without access to the ends of the conduit. They can be used to provide additional protection and security for older electrical installations that are in operation and require maintenance. The two designed as matching open profile elements allow the inner split conduit to be slipped directly over the cable and the cover to be "closed" by the larger outer element. Thanks to this construction it is possible to seal the covers using the full profile ends.

A variant of corrugated pipes are conduits reinforced inside with a metal spiral. By its application in connection with soft PVC a structure of high compression and impact resistance is obtained. In their case, similarly as in the case of other connections and casings, we obtain various tightness classes up to the level of complete water resistance, and even up to IP69K level, which gives pressure and high temperature resistance.
