Auxiliary contacts - expansion devices

Auxiliary contacts in power supply and control systems play the role of an additional element supporting and supplementing the operation of the main contactor module. These elements can control many processes and enable or disable individual auxiliary systems cooperating in the system of subordinate lines. These additional switching devices have a wide range of applications and can be used in both main and auxiliary circuits.

Auxiliary contacts - a multitude of applications

Auxiliary contacts as mechanical electrical switch in the off state have the contacts in the open position. When the main contactor is actuated, the contacts position changes to closed and the system is in the active operation mode. Auxiliary contactors are capable of conducting current, disconnecting the power supply, as well as making voltage under normal operating conditions of the devices and lines they control.

Contactors are used in many industries. They control control circuits on automation lines, are responsible for warning, maintaining work, and for switching machines on and off. They cooperate with devices and systems responsible for warning about irregularities in the functioning of sub-assemblies. They have practical application in controlling the operation of electric motors, industrial presses, overhead cranes, elevators and electric conveyors. Auxiliary contacts support high-current systems in many sectors and heavy industry branches.

Auxiliary contactors - additional possibilities

The task of the auxiliary contactors is to handle specific functions in the supply system. Due to their use, most often in places where high-power machines are controlled, they are characterized by high mechanical resistance and a wide range of supported currents. Their operating characteristics allow the circuit to be turned on and off multiple times as needed. Due to their construction, the auxiliary contacts basically have the same capabilities and parameters as the main contactors. Their design allows for safe and quick actuation of both auxiliary make and break contacts.

Auxiliary contacts, due to their design, allow their use and operation of high-current systems for both alternating voltage (AC) and direct voltage (DC). The range of voltages and currents correspond to the values ​​provided for the given circuit and should be properly selected according to the control contactor and the requirements of the particular circuit. The basic size of the contactor corresponds to one module and it can be extended with other elements. Auxiliary contacts, acting as additional outputs and inputs in control systems, extend the range of possibilities of operation as switching devices. They can be installed as additional devices for systems with surge arresters, motor circuit breakers or time relays.

Free configuration of contactors

Due to the method of installation, auxiliary contactors can cooperate with main contactors in any configuration, connecting high-current systems. The mounting method is used in the side position, both left and right, as well as the front position, on the front panel of the main contactor. The use of additional elements in the form of fastening connectors significantly expands the places and possibilities of using contacts. The modular structure of auxiliary contacts allows them to be used in many places, regardless of their location. They are mounted both in switch cabinets on TH 35 mounting rails, in operator panels, electrical installation housings, and directly next to the operated device.

Wiring can be in any position via screw or spring connectors. The front panel usually has a function informing about the device's operating status. Resistance to external conditions and the influence of environmental factors provides the contactors with a modular structure in accordance with IP standards for individual types of devices.
